Kitty Walsh is an art historian and antique dealer, with a passion for making history of art fun and accessible. She has degrees in art and cultural history from the University of Cambridge and UCL, as well as almost a decade of experience working as a commercial art historian with some of London’s leading galleries. She specialises in European and Asian decorative arts, and her research interests include Early Modern travel and trade, exoticism and folk art.
In 2015 Kitty founded Modern Folk, a business dedicated to the promotion of folk and popular art. They opened their first permanent space, a shop and gallery in Bermondsey, South London, in October 2016.
Kitty will soon be releasing her debut stand-up show ‘Albrecht Dürer: Renaissance Dude.’ Details will follow for performances in London and Edinburgh for the summer of 2017.
